Frequently asked questions

What is Candid Campus?

A platform where you can book private voice calls with real college students and recent graduates and have candid, personalized conversations so you can make better college decisions.

Who are the students?

Current undergraduate, graduate, professional, doctoral, and post-baccalaureate students, plus recent graduates. A host may represent one current school or a school they completed within the last 24 months, even if they are enrolled somewhere else now. Each one applies to host, and we verify them before they can take a single call.

How are students verified?

Every host confirms control of their email, passes a one-time government ID and selfie check through Stripe Identity, and has one represented academic affiliation reviewed before listing. Eligibility is time-bounded and rechecked; a completed school remains eligible for up to 24 months after completion even if the host is enrolled somewhere else now. The full policy is on our Trust & Safety page.

How much does a call cost?

Standard calls are $60 for 25 minutes or $110 for 50 minutes. Candid Campus sets standard pricing, and you see the exact amount before you book.

What if I need to cancel?

For a paid call, cancel 24 hours or more before the call and you pay nothing. Inside 24 hours you’re charged in full, though we can make an exception for a genuine emergency. If the student doesn’t show up, or a technical failure keeps the call from happening, you’re not charged and can rebook right away. The full policy is on our Trust & Safety page.

What if the call doesn’t go well?

Tell us about your experience and we will make it right.

Is this safe for my kid?

Yes. Every student is identity-verified before they can take a single call. Calls are voice-only and run over a relay line, so phone numbers and contact details are never shared. When a call includes your child, you book it, you consent at checkout, and you can join the call yourself anytime. The full policy is on our Trust & Safety page.

Are calls private?

Yes. We bridge all calls securely through our platform, powered by Twilio, so real phone numbers are never shared.
